One of our all time favourite breakfast bowls is Açaí with granola. We could seriously dive into this every day. The first time we got in touch with this beatuiful fruit Açaí was in Brazil, in Rio de Janeiro.
What is Açaí?
Açaí is a tropical berry that grows in the Brazilian rainforest and is insanly delicious. The Native Americans of the Amazon region already recognized the nutritious properties of the berry and used it on their long hunts prior to their discovery by the modern world. The fruit has been widely used by surfers in recent years, who discovered the tasty Açaí Bowl for themselves. It tastes a little bit like chocalate but it is a super healthy fruit. How awesome is that, ha??
Anyway, Açaí is quite difficult to find outside of Brazil and therefore we had to suffer a long time until we stumbled across this great product: Pam’s Organic Açaí Puree. The recipe itself is quite simple and is taken from The Rainforests’ webpage. It tasts just great and comes very close to the original one from Brazil.
